For Businesses:

*Help promoting Old Town businesses through cross promotions, emails and Sherwood Main Street Facebook (Sherwood Main Street in Old Town) page and website (www.sherwoodmainstreet.org)

*Support for Escape to Yoga to find a location, networking for start-up support and organization of grand opening turned Wellness Fair weekend.

*Meeting with individual building/business owners to establish connections and generate ideas:

OEM Accupuncture ~ Adv in HS newspaper and working with YOMS for business

            Brad, Chris, John ~ Potential leasees, fee structure ideas, future opportunities

            Escape to Yoga ~ Connect with Masons for location, connect with high school for

For Community:

*Organized bi-annual community Volunteer Fair to bring together local non-profits looking for volunteers and local community members looking for volulnteer opportunities.

*Helped Old Town business/building owners update exterior decorative lighting and encouraged them to leave lighting on year round to make Old Town more appealing at night.

 

For City/Overall Economics:

*Historic Building Survey of Old Town provided by SHPO as a Main Street provision

*Organized branding efforts

*Grant writing for branding and signage

*Working with WCVA to promote Old Town as a whole

*Advocating for our Old Town businesses through the City of Sherwood, creating strong businesses to benefit our community members. Such as signage, fees, contact info, etc.

*Implimented a fundraising program to sell engraving space on the granite pavers being used in the walkway (paseo) in front of the new Sherwood Community Center in an effort to raise funds for the Community Center and Sherwood Main Street and to invite the community to join in by making their mark on the enter.

*Organized meetingw w/ City of Sherwood, Murray Smith & Associates, and Old Town Business owners to discuss plans for improving Railroad and Washington Streets.

*Supported City of Sherwood with their request to support the Grand Opening for the Cannery Square Plaza by having Old Town businesses provide family entertainment.

 

For Organization Structure:

*Created first Sherwood Main Street brochure to promote the organization and provide an opportunity for volunteer and financial support to the program/organization.

*Volunteer training for all four Main Street committees: Promotions, Organization, Design, Economics

 

IN THE WORKS:

 

For Businesses:

*E-Newsletter generated from all Old Town businesses customer base to cross promote. News letter will go to customers from all Old Town business and represent all Old Town businesses. So Black Bird Coffee will be promoted in an E-Newsletter that goes out to customers from all of the Old Town businesses, not just their customers.

*Mentoring/Coaching for all Old Town businesses owners.

*Update/Create brochures for visitor and business recruitment.

 

For Community:

*Murals, Ambiance Lighting, User friendly allies, business recruitment

*Work with Youth on Main Street to set up a Bowmen store in Old Town, most likely within an Old Town business to start with.

 

For City/Overall Economics:

*Next steps for branding: Logo, tag line, color scheme, font selections.

*Directional signage to Old Town from Tualatin-Sherwood Rd, Hwy 99, Langer Farms Pkwy. Gateway signage at entrances to Old Town. Wayfinding signage throughout Old Town. Signage for Old Town businesses at all tournament locations (parks, schools, field house), Wildlife Refuge, Community Center to promote to out of town guests.

*Establish future funding, such as a sponsorship program, fundraisers, etc.
